Good afternoon,

We are a school with 5k APs with 2 Clearpass appliances that handle the radius service, guest registration, and mac based authentication for non-802.1X devices.

We are planning to start using Clearpass to authenticate wired users on campus. Do you recommend using another (2) Pair of clearpass appliances for this or combine the appliances?

I mean have 2 appliances for wireless and 2 appliances for wired.

Hi Nils,

I strongly suggest you use the existing CPPM nodes you have, they might need additional licenses to authN the additional endpoints but you want to make your life easy,  a single point of policy control for the entire network and the view on enabling a ubiquitous experience for the user's regardless of if they are wired or wireless connected.
