The way I understand it is, cached reauth maintains an authenticated state if the connection to the RADIUS server is lost until the cached reauth period expires. The client will only stay in this state until the cached-reauth-period timer expires. After the timer expires, another re-auth is attempted.

I can see there Cached Reauth Period option, how it is working ? The switch cached the last user role or vlan and use it automatically without authentication ?
Thanks

I think your only option is template based group for now.

Subject: ArubaOS switch - 802.1x auth
Dear community members,
I'm configuring 802.1x with DUR on 2930F switches in Aruba Central management GUI Groups and theres no option for Critical roles or Critical VLAN for the case when Radius server is unreachable. Is there some way how to solve it except the change GUI groups to Template groups ?
Thanks for any suggestions
Vaclav
