    Hi,

i have a HP procurve 2810-24g (j9021A) switch. Everything is working fine except one SFP (J9054C). This particular SFP is detected in "show tech transceivers" but the link status stays down. I have allready tested the SFP in another switch and it's working just fine.

Edit: The switch is running the most recent firmware (N.11.75).

Thank you for your help, I really appreciate it.

Just curious: the Switch SFP port on which the HP X111 100M SFP LC FX Transceiver (J9054C) is installed into [*] has the Speed-Duplex setting set to Auto as default? What happens if you force the Speed-Duplex setting to 100-Full instead of Auto (considering the fiber optic link operates 100 Mbps Full Duplex on both ends)?

[*] HP ProCurve 2810-24G (J9021A) has 4 SFP ports that are "Dual-Personality Ports": this means that each one of those SFP ports can be used as either an RJ-45 10/100/1000 port or an mini-GBIC for use with supported mini-GBIC Transceivers.

The default speed and duplex value was "100-full". Setting is to "auto" leads to an error: "Value auto is not applicable to port 23." The link should operate at 100-full. I did also test it at 100-half to no avail.

Also, the four RJ-45 GbE Ports are not in use.

    Thanks anyway!
