    Hi Team,

We installed 1920S 24G 185w Switch high noise for one customer 5 months ago, yesterday suddenly a very loud fan noise came, while the location temperature of the switch was cold, and dust-free.

I believe this switch is web-managed only.

Has anyone faced the same issue? as the switches are still new and should not be doing this.

1xxx switches are generally somewhat limited regarding hardware monitoring. Things to check:

    • a related event in the logs
    • Fault LED blinking may indicate a hardware problem, even without anything in the web console
    • visual inspection of chassis fans - if one has failed, the other may run full speed

They still come with lifetime warranty though, so you might want to open a support case.

Aruba Instant ON like the 1920 switches are discussed on https://community.arubainstanton.com/home.

Please contact support if you think the switch noise isn't normal.

See datasheet for normal noise levels:

    https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docLocale=en_US&docId=a00003487en_us

Noise level should be around 36dB for this switch.
