2930F Active Optical Cable

    Hi,

     

    I understand that the datasheet doesnt mention active optical cables, but it should work, right?

     

    I may need to install a 10 GbE SFP+ Active Optical Cable 10M long.

    AFAIK the Aruba 2930F Switch series (exactly only for: JL253A, JL254A, JL255A, JL256A, JL258A, JL263A, JL264A, JL558A and JL559A if we're speaking of models supporting SFP+ DACs/Transceivers) doesn't support any other DAC Cable other than what was expressly listed here (they are Passive DAC as far as I know):

      

    • J9281B HPE X242 10G SFP+ to SFP+ 1 meter long DAC Cable
    • J9281D Aruba 10G SFP+ to SFP+ 1 meter long DAC Cable
    • J9283B HPE X242 10G SFP+ to SFP+ 3 meters long DAC Cable
    • J9283D Aruba 10G SFP+ to SFP+ 3 meters long DAC Cable

    J9285B (HPE X242) and J9285D (Aruba) 7 meters long DAC Cable or any type of 7 meters long DAC Cable are not supported in any of this Aruba series...so be careful.
