5308xl firmware update

    Hi,

    we want to update the firmware on our 5308xl switches. Currently running E.10.74. The only version available to download is K.15.04. Is this right?

     

    The release notes say there is a bootRom update required. It also says

     

    "If your switch is running a software version earlier than
    K.15, your BootROM will be updated when you upload
    K.15.04.xxxx software to your switch. "

     

    Does this mean the bootRom will be updated automatically when I load the new version? Am I right to go from E.10 to K.15?

    firmware version K.xx.xx for HP networking 54xxzl, 82xxzl, 35xxyl, 6200yl, 6600. For the 5308xl use firmware E.xx.xx and the last version for firmware E.xx.xx is E.11.21

    Thanks. How did you find that?
    This HP site is useles. I went here http://h20566.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/public/?ac.admitted=1329448831151.876444892.199480143 and I searched for 5308xl, clicked through the links to download firmware and that lead me to the K.15 version.

    Simplest way to get firmware, manuals, etc for HP equipment is to go to support.hp.com and type in the model number. In this case 5300xl.

    I've found it far more effective to search for something on HP's site by going to google.com and using "site:hp.com" along with my search than trying to search from hp.com.

    I have always used this link to update my networking hardware .. never had a problem so far.

    Can u guide for the firmware  upgradation of HP ProCurve Switch 5308xl...

     

    Current   Firmware revision: E.10.02         and      ROM Version        : E.05.04       

     

    Which is the suitable Firmware for the same...
