I have a test 5406ZL switch that I am attempting to configure to use RPVST. When I use the command to use RPVST,  receive the following error message:

    (config)# spanning-tree mode rapid-pvst
Module not present for port or invalid port: mode

The switch remains in operation with MST:

    Multiple Spanning Tree (MST) Information

    STP Enabled : Yes
    Force Version : MSTP-operation
    IST Mapped VLANs : 1-4094
    Switch MAC Address : a01d48-85a200
    Switch Priority : 0
    Max Age : 20
    Max Hops : 20
    Forward Delay : 15

    Topology Change Count : 1
Time Since Last Change : 5 mins

The syntax appears to be correct based on this guide:

    Configuring RPVST+ (hpe.com)

Any suggestions on how to switch to RPVST?

    Hello,

RPVST was not available in early FW releases of this switch. It was added with version K.15.09.0003 and all later versions. Please check your FW version (show version) and update if necessary. Of course K.15.09.0003 is the first version introducing RPVST and is meanwhile also outdated so you need to go to a recent version. You can download firmware from this page.

Thanks so much for the response. I updated the firmware and was able to implement RPVST as outlined in the configuration guide.
