Can 1 620 controller be a local to another 620 configured as a master supporting up 16 access points? The bad design aspects aside and I understand this equals one 650 controller, can it technically be accomplished? TIA.
Each 620 can support 8 APs, so yes, you can support 16 with 2 x 620 controllers. Each 620 would have to terminate tunnels from only 8 APs, so there would be no redundancy.
As you say, this is not a good design.
Thanks for the confirmation. One other item I want to confirm as well. A wireless client associated with an access point registered to the master controller would be able to move about the campus and seemlessly associate with an access point registered to the local controller? Assuming of course the correct configuration on the controllers. TIA
Assuming your configuration, RF coverage, authentication types, and client stability would support it, yes!
Thank you olino & The.racking.monkey. Much appreciated!!
