I am currently authenticating through a PHYSICAL clearpass box on version 6.5 (very old)

I am wanting to migrate to a virtual appliance, and eventually get to the point where i'm running on 6.10 (current)

Could someone advise my shortest/cleanest upgrade path?

You might want to get a reseller to scope out a migration, depending on how complicated your configuration.

Assuming you are only doing 802.1x authentication it could be a simple as joining the new clearpass to a domain, adding a radius server certificate, backup and restore the configuration to a new server.

Those are the basic steps, but of course you would need to size and license the server correctly.  If you can generate a temporary license, I would stage the new server and see how it goes.

Any opinions expressed here are solely my own and not necessarily that of Hewlett Packard Enterprise or Aruba Networks.
