    Hello,

I've been tasked with updating our Aruba MM an controllers. I'm very new to Aruba and want to know if there is a specific upgrade path from 8.7.1.x to the latest version which is 8.12..x

We do not have any AP2xx or 3xx, only AP515s.

Our Aruba MM also needs to be updated since it's on version 8.7.1.6 so I'm also wondering should I first update the Mobility Master, and then update the controllers through MM with an FTP server holding the firmware update?

    Thanks for any help.

yes it is recommended to upgrade the MM and then the rest of the MDs. Also note that mutliversion is supported with MMs.

you can also check the "upgrade procedure" chapter for 8.12 release notes. where you can obtain from HPE Networking support portal

So, it works to just jump from 8.7 to 8.12? I'm actually in need of figuring out ASAP if we can jump from 8.10 to 8.12 without issue.

There should be no issues, assuming you have enough free flash storage space on controllers, with direct upgrade to 8.10 or 8.12. Storage requirements are listed in release notes. Be very sure to have enough space for the upgrade as it varies between versions.

Make sure to review the release notes, there are a few changes in behavior between those two versions that may impact your installation.  Going to assume that since you are looking at 8.12 that you don't have any hardware in production that is parked in 8.10.
