Now that Wi-Fi 6E is available to purchase for future upgrades, there's widespread discussion about the value of upgrading to the new 802.11ax - 6 GHz standard, or whether (instead) to upgrade to 802.11ac - 5 & 2.4 GHz only. Most who are against Wi-Fi 6E and promote Wi-Fi 6 think of Wi-Fi gear under a 3 year refresh cycle. But in higher education, a typical Wi-Fi refresh cycle is closer to 5-7 years. This session will share the results of Wi-Fi 6E testing and show where Wi-Fi 6 performs just as reliably with AP 635s as with AP 535s. We'll also demonstrate the value of being ready for Wi-Fi 6E when more Wi-Fi clients can readily support it. Finally, we'll show the performance benefits of Wi-Fi 6E by sharing our Beta tests of the latest Galaxy Ultra S21 phone and several Intel AX210 Wi-Fi cards.
