Hi all, any advice for reconfiguring 2 x standalone masters as locals pointing to master/master controllers. ?  they have differing config so looks like a tricky one.

    Thanks

    HI,

Yes, you have to configure master-ip in both the locals and join to the network. once the relation is established, master will push the configuration ( only AP-Group, local DB and Policies ) and both the local will sync with the master.

Step 1 : Configure both locals with required Controller IP,VLANs, VLAN ip address and routing if required

Step 2 : Configure the master-ip, ex : masterip 172.16.1.1 ipsec <IPSec key  same as configured in the master>

Step 3 : Connect the local controllers to the network and check whether the IPSec is up or not (show crypto ipsec sa or show datapath tunnel)

I'm sure the above will help you to configure standalone as locals

Please feel free if any further help required.

Venu, thanks, my concerns are that the 2 x masters that I want to convert to locals have differing config. So if I configure 2 x 3600's as master/master and load the first 6000 config to these and then convert all should be ok.  My problem is converting the second 6000 as this has differing config not present on the new masters.  I guess the masters will then wipe the config from this second local.

    HI,

We have to configure masterip in the controller and reboot and then join it to the network. as soon as we configure masterip in the controller, that controller will start behaving like a local and will not push it's config across the network. once it establish the tunnel it will pull the config.

I don't see any challenge here, please correct me if I misunderstood your need.
