if not done so - maybe have a look at this thread: https://community.arubanetworks.com/community-home/digestviewer/viewthread?MID=30325For any instant AP it's best practice to have the management subnet as the "untagged vlan" on the switch uplinks and use the "vlan 1" on Instant-AP side as the management vlan (mapped to the untagged-vlan on switch uplink) - of course you cannot add the "vlan 1" on the switch-port as tagged vlan (thus do not use vlan-1 for any user-traffic).
You can run the IAP-387 in standalone mode and assigne fixed management IP's - but why would there be a need to have the management-IP's of Point and Portal in different subnets ? if you do need to troubleshoot s.th. it's better to have both in the same subnet, so trying a ping from Portal to Point is L2 traffic ...
