    Hi,

Recently I reffered the aruba 3810M data sheet where I came accross two types of RAMs in the switch.

    Memory and processor
    • P2020 Dual Core @ 1.2 GHz, 4 GB DDR3 SDRAM, 1 GB SD Card
    • Dual ARM Cortex A9 @ 1 GHz, 2 GB DDR3 SDRAM; Packet buffer size: 13.5 MB Internal

Can someone please explain about the presence of two RAM types for a single switch.

    Thanks in advance,
    Manul De Silva

    Hi Manul DE Silva,

You might also notice that there are two CPUs listed. Each set of RAM services its CPU.

The P2020 serves as a system processor for the switch. The ARM Cortex A9 is more related to switching.
