    How to remove a Switch.? (Any CX, managed and under AFC control)

    When pressing delete, in the Maintenance / Switches / Actions > delete option
    this message appear, not tempting to try that:

    • Are you sure you want to delete 6300SW1?
    • This will attempt to remove configuration from one or more switches.
      A switch that was assigned to DSM will be rebooted

    Anyone??

    Hi Steinar.

    In my limited testing I deleted switch from Fabric Composer and configuration was retained on the switch. 6300 does not have Pensando chips so you can safely ignore warnings about DSM.

    I'm using CX  simulator 10.11 and FC 6.3.0 in this test. This combination is not really supported. So this can be the reason that configuration was not deleted.

    Edit: After upgrade to FC 6.4.1 test return the same result. Configuration on the switch simulator was retained.

    The 'delete' applies only to the Fabric Composer where the 'configuration' and switch 'inventory' information is stored. The switch configuration remains unaffected. (AFC 6.4.1 CX 10.11 used in my lab)
