    Hi
I am reaching out to seek your professional assistance regarding the configuration of High Availability (HA) Aruba VSX. Currently, I have two 6300m core switches and I require guidance in setting up the VSX configuration for optimal performance.

The 6300Ms don't support VSX. However, they do support VSF. Below is a link to a pretty good guide on VSF, while it's for some older versions, a lot of the topics discussed within are still valid.

Thank you for your reply and for clarifying the information regarding the 6300Ms and their support for VSX. I appreciate your assistance in helping me understand the capabilities of the 6300Ms.

    akmalk14,

The 6200 and 6300 Aruba CX switches support VSF (Virtual Switch Framework).
The 6400+ series Aruba CX switches support VSX (Virtual Switch Extension).

Here is a helpful resource to check for the different features and capabilities of each switch:

    Aruba CX Feature Matrix: https://feature-navigator.arubanetworks.com/

Also the Aruba Airheads Broadcasting Channel on Youtube has many videos that are easy to watch and explain the different technologies.

    https://www.youtube.com/@AirheadsBroadcasting

On Aruba ASP.arubanetworks.com you can find many technical documents on how to configure features such as VSF on the 6200/6300.

Here is the link for the 6300 to configure VSF on 10.11 code:

I think with those three main tools, you shouldn't have any problems with implementing VSF on your 6300 series switches. But keep in mind the capabilities of VSF and VSX are different. One of the main differences is that VSX provides a pathway for hitless upgrades assuming all connected devices are dual connected to the VSX pair. VSF doesn't have this capability. Upgrades on a 6300 series = downtime. You can minimize this downtime with the Enhanced Software Upgrade (ESU) Feature. But likely there will still be a downtime to some devices.

    Good luck with your switching!

VTP is not a feature that Aruba supports in CX.

Please review the Aruba Feature Navigator.
