    Dear Friends,

We are already deploy Aruba H/W Mobility Controller in standalone mode. In that case we have a requirement to broadcast single common SSID within the entire premises.

    • Now we already create multiple AP-Group and APs are already assign to the relevant groups.
    • Already Create SSID as well.

How we can we assign multiple VLAN IDs to Single SSID already we created.

We are using Aruba 9240 H/W Mobility Controller

Do you want to pool VLANs, or are you using the different VLANs for the different user roles on the controller? All you need to do is trunk the VLANs to the controller, and make sure the VLANs exist on the controller as well. From there you can assign the VLANs to user roles or WLANs/SSIDs

    Hi Dustin,

No, we are using only one user role. But we need to assign Multiple VLAN IDs when user connect different location.

    Let's take example:

    We have two locations:

    Location A & Location B

    • We already create two AP-Group Called APG-A & APG-B
    • Then we add all the AP are in location A to the APG-A Group
    • We add all the APs are in location B to the APG-B group.
    • We have separate DHCP server for server those two locations (VLAN 10 for Location A & VLAN 20 for Location B)
    • We want to create a single SSID for all location ex: TEST01SSID.
    • Our Requirement is when user connects to that SSID within the Location A, that users get IP address from VLAN 10
    • If users connect from Location B users get IPs From VLAN 20

Unless you are running mobility controllers for each of those locations, you can't do that with a single user role.

VLAN can be assigned to the VAP and/or to the user role.  You can create a VAP for group A, and a VAP for group B, each with a specific VLAN but otherwise identical and then not set the VLAN in the user role.

Of course, if you are running AOS 8 and the APs in tunneled mode, all of that traffic is coming back to the Mobility Controller and a central VLAN, so location based VLANs shouldn't be a factor.

What type of authentication are you using?

In some cases we have been able to create a separate virtual-ap using the same ssid-profile but a different aaa profile.to have different settings per ap-group.
