I am getting the correct DNS server IP address in my ip configuration. There is something going on when connected to the wireless network in particular. Everything works fine using the IP address. I can ping devices including servers and can rdp into them. I get a non existent domain message.

If it is a Windows-based computer, use nslookup on the command line to see what it says about the dns server.  Also do an ipconfig /all to see if the DNS server is correct.
