ClearPass captive portal auth failure

    I have a captive portal which is using user credentials from an AD auth source an failing. The user is being successfully found during the lookup, followed by these errors:  

    Access Tracker: 

    I would have though one of these methods would be used. I've tried lots of combinations. 

     

    Event Viewer: 

    Failed to decode RADIUS packet - Received packet from 10.22.0.8 with invalid Message-Authenticator!  (Shared secret may be incorrect.) - I've verified the secret is correct. 

     

    Does the message in the event viewer above relate to the reject in the pcap highlighted below?

    You'll need to use [PAP] as the authentication method.
