    Good day,

We recently deployed a ClearPass as a guest management system for a prominent Hotel. The infrastructure includes 2 physical controllers that are clustered by a Virtual Mobility Conductor then we have Clearpass as the guest management solution.

When the guest connects to the wifi,  guest captive portal comes up as expected and the guest enters name and email details to login. The issue we are having is that there is a long pause after captive portal login before the guest gets internet access. Not sure if its because of background processes, but I am seeking advice on any optimisation I can do to reduce the login delay for guests. Could it be related to the Certificate type we are using beacuse l have installed a wildcard certificate or are there any settings we need to tweak?

    Kindly assist

If you go into Guest > Configuration > Self-Registration > select the portal page > Edit > and on the right hand side look at the login delay. Is that set too long? We use 3 secs

You can see the same setting in the Advanced Editor if you scroll way down the page, and look for Automatic login:

As well, have a look at the redirect pause under your L3 Authentication Captive Portal profile:

Think the default is 10, but 1 or 2 works fine as well..

Redirect pause, forgot that. We use 0 and it's absolutely fine.
