I can't for the life of me figure out this simple question. We have guest setup and working with no issues. We would just like the URL to be the server name instead of IP address that is listed when they launch a browser (cert issues)
https://x.x.x.x/guest/company.php?cmd... and we want https://servername/guest/company...
any help appreciated
You should definitely be using the FQDN. Are you using Aruba network gear?
yup, clearpass servers managing a hundred or so ap-105's
Odd thing is if we go to manage our clearpass server, fdqn is fine.
So what happens if you replace the IP with the FQDN?
Are the guest clients poinsted to a DNS server that can resolve that address?
manually replacing IP with FQDN works perfectly, page is displayed with no issues.
yes they are
So you should be able to just change the URL in your captive portal profile to reflect the FQDN.
agreed, but for the life of me I can't find where to do that
Ah ok. Sorry for all the questions. Couldn't tell exactly what your question was.
Under Configuration > Authentication > L3 authentication, select the captive portal profile and then you should see the URL field.
no sweat, apprecaite the help!
I must be losing it today, as I don't see that option. I assume you mean in clearpass guest?
In your controller.
man, we must be doing something wrong lol...
did you see screenshot above? Not seeing it on the controller either
This is the location that Cappalli pointed out:
bummer, unfortunately we don't have anything that looks like that at all. Might be an older version?
found it...
Its under security - captive portal profile
Thanks for the help!!
