  • 1.  Concurrent Client Density vs Maximum Associated Client Per Radio

    Posted Sep 22, 2023 11:04 AM

    Hi My Friend,

Can anyone explain what is the difference between concurrent Client density vs Associated client per radio?

Because all of the Aruba Data Sheet only indicate max associated client per radio. How can we find concurrent user density in the Aruba 505/515 as well as Aruba instant On series??

Where are you finding "concurrent user density" that you need to compare against the value?

    Hi @chulcher

I have doubt about, AP 505 able to connect 256 users simultaneously because it has only 2x2 MIMO antenna. Can you explain that process?

First off, never confuse anyone's datasheet numbers with real world application, especially when it comes to maximum throughput and number of clients.  Those are theoretical maximums that are going to be almost impossible to reach due to real world limitations.

The 2x2 MIMO antenna isn't the limiting factor for the AP-505, but rather the CPU and data handling capacity of the AP as a unit.  Expect that AP to comfortably handle 15-25 users per radio.  The AP-555 should be maxing out around 75-100 users per radio.  Please note, these numbers are based on a somewhat normal indoor or office type of deployment and expectation of minimal throughput to each device and should not be taken as a hard and fast rule.  These are generalities.  Each individual installation has unique characteristics that should be taken into account when choosing AP model and quantity.
