Console to USB cable recommendations

    Hi Everyone

     

    I have just started with a company that has numerous HP Procurve Switch 2650 but unfortunately no one knows where the console cables are or if we still have them.

     

    so i am hopping someone can recommend USB to RS232, think that is what i need and all our laptops are USB.

     

    I do not really have much experience with HP but can i use putty to connect to the HP switch through the RS232 cable?

     

    Putty setup

     

    COM1
    baud rate 9600
    8 data bits
     1 stop bit
    no parit
    flow control set to Xon/Xoff

     

    any help would be really appreceated

    Ps where the best place to learn about VLANs. untagging, tagging etc?
