It looks like all of my MMs, MDs self generate flashbackup.tar.gz. If I delete it, it will regenerate. All controllers generate this file at the same time:
    462666 Jun 15 02:18 flashbackup.tar.gz
    464081 Jun 17 02:18 flashbackup.tar.gz
This file is large so when it generates, nanny triggers syslog “There is only 762 MB left on the flash. At least 1000 MB of free flash space is recommended to keep the system stable”
How to stop the generating of flashbackup.tar.gz?  ArubaOS Version 8.5.0.8

    Regards,

It sounds like you have airwave.

Yes, we have Airwave but we don’t want Airwave to do anything with configurations, not even firmware upgrade, at east that is the intention.

After scramble through Airwave, I found this “Manage local configuration on controllers” was checked “Yes”, so I changed it to “No”. Not sure if it is the culprit.

Also searching Airwave Event Log no event of this file was generated.

You can also look at the group settings for the controllers in Airwave for backups.

TAC confirms this is a known bugs AOS-200277, AOS-204071 in AOS 8.5.0.8 and will be fix in 8.5.0.9.

Despite the nanny log, no worry about system stability.

    Thanks all.

Yea I would check your Airwave setup. Airwave should be deleting the flashbackups and not leaving all of them there. If you are not using Airwave, do you have another management system running scripts to automate backups?
