Directional AP at the tunnel construction site.

    Hello.
I have a question regarding wireless LAN.

We would like to install a directional wireless AP at the tunnel construction site.

    Condition :
    1. The inside of the tunnel shall be communicated only wirelessly without wires.
    2. The same SSID shall be used inside the tunnel.
    3. The tunnel is about 3 km long

For example, is it possible to install 1 set of directional APs at 200M intervals, receive them wirelessly, and turn them over wirelessly again?

At this time, can APs perform wireless bridge and wireless service at the same time?
In other words, can clients between APs receive wireless services?

If this is possible, I would like to use AP-567EX for all tunnel sites.

Is it possible to use a bridge or mesh method?

    Thank you in advance.

I think that should be possible, if the tunnel is large enough and there is free line of sight (including as much as possible fresnel zone) between the APs.

It may be good to get someone (Aruba partner) involved who did this before. And there is a maximum hop-count for mesh, for instant it's 2 (point-point-portal), for controllers I think it's somewhat higher. You may consider (a combination) with power-line communication as well, where the power (assume there is power to power the APs) lines is used to transfer data as well, which may or may not be working depending on what is connected to the power and the interference. So, if you can find someone who did this before, you may have a higher chance of success.
