Function of BR0 interface on IAPs

    hello everyone,
     
    I have several clusters (VC) of IAPs with tunneled networks to VPN concentrators (VPNC).

    I would like to know what is the function of the BR0 interface in the IAPs? 
    I'm seeing a lot of Rx Drops in this interface and I still don't know what its true function is.
     
    The ETH0 interface does not lose or discard packets and that is why I have this question.

    AFAIK, br0 interface is the uplink interface for IAPs.
