Are there any issues with managing native Aurba wireless systems in conjunction with Alcatel, badged solutions? We have a client with an extensive Alcatel wireless solution and wish to move forward with positioning native Aruba.

When you say in conjunction, what do you mean?  If you have a separate Aruba System at one site and a Separate Alcatel System at Another site, they can both be managed with Airwave for monitoring, yes.  What you should not do is attempt to have Aruba APs connecting to Alcatel Switches or vice versa;  The licensing is different, the code is different, what APs use to discover controllers is different, as well.  Lastly, TAC will not support a mixed deployment like that.  It is best to contact your local Aruba Sales team for the best way forward.

Thanks, so Aruba AirWaves can mange both solutions. Forgive my lack of knowledge, does this mean if all controllers are managed via AirWave then seemless roaming can be facilitated between the Aruba and Alcatel solutions? I Trust a single Clearpath deployment can also be used for RADIUS and policy enforcment?

ClearPass is vendor neutral, yes, and would be used for central policy decisions. The network devices themselves do the enforcement.

You can facilitate roaming between an Aruba and Alcatel system if both systems are using the same encryption, authentication and if they are putting users on the same VLAN.  ClearPass can be used for both, yes...
