Subject: How to get actual power consumption on HP5412 Switches ( J9851A)
Good afternoon,
one of our custiomers wants to find out how much power (Watts) his switches are currently needing. The idea is to check the power consumtion against the USVs to get the time the USVs are able to deal when the normal power fails.
The command "show system power supply" just gives me the power of the installed power supplies which is the maximum power consumption.
I can query each port to see how much PoE power is currently used.
Do you know a command or way how to check how much power the switch is currently using for PoE, management module, interface cards together ?
Many thanks for your help !
Markus
Idle power is the actual power consumption of the device with no ports connected.
Heat dissipation does not include heat dissipated by the PoE-powered devices themselves. When more than four power cords are installed in a 5412R zl2 switch chassis, additional installation requirements are needed. Refer to the HPE 5400R zl2 Switches Quick Setup Guide and Safety/Regulatory Information manual for details.
