How is it possible to get the arp cache of a procurve 4000 to find a specific IP adddress matching a MAC address with HP TOPTOOLS ???

I've never used Toptools but the manual says you can get IP and MAC info from the Node Port Table. Devices/Device Types/Networking Types Then right click on Networking Types and selecting Node Port Table.

See Page 6-7 in the TopTools User manual

Thx for your answer but it's ok for us only vhen a port is connected to another HP Procurve but it's bad when the port is connected to an end node workstation.

Maybe it's because of our config.

    Thanks again.

Sounds like you do not have Discovery turned on. See Chapter 4 on Discovery. You may have to tell it about the subnetworks but it sounds like it should find all of the hosts on your network. It may take a while. Make sure you have Ping Discovery checked. (Fig 4-3)
