IAP-205 Latest Software

    Hello,

    I have a couple IAP-205 access points deployed on an isolated network (no outside connection). We're being tasked with making sure they're running the latest firmware a few times a year. I have a couple questions:

     

    1. It's my understanding that a service contract would be needed, correct? Where can I find information on this?
    2. Where can i find information on what the latest software version is that supports the IAP-205? Will all versions of Aruba Instant support the IAP-205 or only specific versions?

    The IAP-205's that I have are currently running: 6.4.2.6-4.1.1.6

    The latest would be 6.5.4.3-here:  http://support.arubanetworks.com/LifetimeWarrantySoftware/tabid/121/DMXModule/661/EntryId/27582/Default.aspx

    The IAP-205 is discontinued so that is probably the last version of software I would expect for the IAP-205:  https://www.arubanetworks.com/assets/support/EOS_Notice_200_Series_Campus_APs_TAAFIPS.pdf

    Thank you, I was able to update a test unit with that firmware without issue.

    Latest firmware for the 205 is 6.5.4.18 and can be found here.

    Then you can use the 'Update firmware' button from inside the web UI of your Instant to get free updates.

    You could try creating an account on the Aruba Support Portal, and see if you can download the software with that. For some firmware you need an active maintenance contract, others are free accessible for product owners.

    Have you tried to create an account for ASP / Aruba Support Portal?

    Update: I just tested and if you create an account on ASP you can download the mentioned Instant firmware, even without adding a contract.

    Hey Herman. im running 6.4.2.6-4.1.1.6_500009 on iap205.. Is there any way you lan link to the image url for updatng the ap. I get errors every time I try to get image file. So ill try to do it by URL. Thanks

    Hi cjoseph. Im also looking to upgrade my 205 so my new 215 can work with them. I tryed to click yoyr links, but I get an error when loggin in. Do you have a way that I can accec the links?
