IRF DUAL MASTER  HP JG510A 1 40Gige link with AOC cable I would thinke one switch would be master and the rest slave.

How to demote a masters. We have 2 masters.

    See.

     version 7.1.045, Release 2432P61
    #
     sysname switch00
    #
     irf mac-address persistent timer
     irf auto-update enable
     undo irf link-delay
     irf member 2 priority 2
     irf mode normal
    #
     lldp global enable
    #
     system-working-mode advance
     password-recovery enable

    #
     version 7.1.045, Release 2432P61
    #
     sysname switch11
    #
     irf mac-address persistent timer
     irf auto-update enable
     undo irf link-delay
     irf member 1 priority 5
     irf mode normal
    #
     lldp global enable
    #
     system-working-mode advance
     password-recovery enable

Switch11 is  master and switch00 is slave. But we have  2 masters.

Two masters could mean that the IRF stack splitted without that a multi-active detection (MAD) mechanism activated to protect the stack from the consequences of the Split Brain scenario. How really is the IRF status?

We have probably a scenario like you described , sound correct. How do we move forward from here?
