As I am looking for a copper ( UTP ) uplink option for a JG937A switch, I realized there is no quick reference for this switch and supported SFP modules.

Can someone guide me to that matrix?

My goal is use 10GBase-T to increase uplink speed to a daisy-chained switch for initial laptop preparation.

    Thanks in Advance, MH

    Thanks akg7,

Should I interpret this list of supported SFP modules as , "the HPE 10GBase-T SFP+ Transceiver" is not listed so this module is not supported" ? Or it is known not to be working ?

So my question is , are there any 10GBase-T modules supported ?

And as I am not fully experienced with HPE SFP+ interoperability , are there any working modules out there ?

    Regards , MH

    Hello @-M-H-,

I can see only one option with 1gig is avialable.

    HPE X120 1G SFP RJ45 T Transceiver  - JD089B

X120 1Gb SFP RJ45 T transceiver - Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP) Gigabit transceiver using 1000BaseT technology - Has one RJ-45 1000BASE-T port - Requires Category 5 100-ohm UTP or STP cable or better

I believe apart from the list  transceiver not supported.

If you have product number 'JXXXXX' of the transceived which you want to use then I will check again.

    Thanks!

    Hi @-M-H- !

HPE has one 10GBASE-T SFP+ transceiver that is compatible with most FlexFabric switches, it's called “HPE 10GBase-T SFP+ Transceiver” product number 813874-B21. However it is not officially supported with 5130EI switches.

    Thanks Ivan B

This is the info I am looking for.

"is not officially supported"   is noted , and lets not go down the roadof "why HPE .... ? etc "

But What can I expect when I connect these SFP+ modules to my switch ?

Slightly warmer modules due to out of specs power usage ? Nagging in Log about non supported modules or unstable / unusable behaviour ?

If I had a set I would pop them in, but now I have to wait for ordering and logistics.

    Regards MH

BTW @ akg7 the modules you listed are fiber modules and I have them, but not the cable infra structure to use them to that location.

Since HPE Comware switches do not use any kind of white (or allow) lists, they do not forbid usage of unsupported transceivers. So side effects of using such may vary and include, but not limited to:

    - Warning log messages
    - Link instability
    - Lack of any link

In this particular case I don't expect any physical issues like overheating etc, in the worst scenario these transceivers just won't be recognized.
