    Hi,

    I have a pair of brand new 6125XLG switches here and I'm reading in the fundamentals guide that it's very important to configure access on the aux ports before establishing IRF if I want to continue to have access to the switches. I can't however get the command to work:

    <HP>
    <HP>%Mar 16 00:35:19:494 2011 HP SHELL/5/SHELL_LOGIN: TTY logged in from aux0.

    <HP>system-view
    System View: return to User View with Ctrl+Z.
    [HP]line class aux
    ^
    % Unrecognized command found at '^' position.

    <HP>display device verbose
    Slot 1
    SubSNo PortNum PCBVer FPGAVer CPLDVer BootRomVer AddrLM Type State
    0 20 Ver.B NULL 002 103 IVL Back Plane Normal
    1 12 Ver.B NULL 002 103 IVL Front Plane Normal

    slot 1 info:
    Status : Normal
    Type : Back Plane
    Software Ver : Release 2306
    PCB Ver : Ver.B
    FPGA Ver : NULL
    BootRom Ver : 103
    CPLD Ver : 002
    SubCard : 1
    Status : Normal
    Type : Front Plane
    PCB Ver : Ver.B
    FPGA Ver : NULL
    CPLD Ver : 002
    PortNum : 12
    <HP>

    I suspect that the CLI has changed since the doc was written. Any clues to how to solve this?

    I can confirm that following the guide HP 6125g Switch Series - How to Configure Intelligent Resilient Framework (IRF) that makes no mention of aux ports does indeed not work since the second switch will not allow you to logon again after the reboot step.

    User interface aux1 is available.

    Press ENTER to get started.

    Login failed.

    Now I need a console cable.

    The solution is to upgrade the firmware before setting up IRF. The command line class aux works great with newer firmware (6125XLG-CMW710-R2422P01).
