    Hello guys
I got a few questions regarding this mode
I configured a group with monitor only
As you can see its on read only

And it says so as well here
Now i see that can still configure the switch on the aruba central but through the console option  in the tools opton

Was this option available to do this? even if its on monitorin mode?
I wonder if the configuration i did is correct? the way you can configure it, its limited just to that console or its the only way i could do it.  I saw also that i could create a vlan locally on the switch just do a write memory and it will just show on the aruba central, so i can configure it through the aruba central and also locally.
It was intentional done like this for some reason?

    The other question
Its there a way to back up the configuration automatically in monitor only mode? something like the airwave does.  that you can see the airwave server with the lastest config and if something happen, you can just go to the airwave and see the last config there, even if its on monitor only

The aim of monitor-only mode for AOS-S switches is for monitoring, reporting, and troubleshooting. The switches that are added in this mode, configuration changes are not allowed to be performed using UI groups in Aruba Central.
Using Central, the configuration is done only using WebUI  or Templates., which you can't do while the switch is in monitor-only
in this mode, you can use console which would be same as local configuration done through SSH. So this is normal.

Here is you can find the running config of the switch , do you have that in monitor-mode?

    Hi,

the "configuration audits" is not available for "monitor only" switches. Would be a nice feature for such devices to be able to store a number (lets say at least 10) of config-backups and run an audit of the running config against those.

The easiest way I think to create backups currently is: use the "commands" whithin the "Tools" menu

there you can select in Categories "Configuration" and then within the commands "show running configuration" - then download the results from the device output section.

Note: you can run such commands for several devices (lets say - all switches in the same monitoring group) - of course it takes its time if the number is high, though download-function is not working in a way to do it in one step - instead each config needs to be downloaded on its own :(

Maybe th´d feature "download multiple output-windows in once as those are put into a zip file anyhow" might be possible to get faster implemented.

Hello, yeah i saw that the only thing i could do was to download them all though the command tools and maybe send them to myselft through email.   But i was looking something similar like the airwave, i just find it really odd that you have to do that yourseft manually when in the airwave its done automatically
At least he can see the last config he had if something happened to the switch? and the switch its down?
