    Hi!

We have few Aruba 2540 and 2930 and I can see TX drops on many interfaces. Its not just one switch its almost all the switches. This is only 1G ports and 10G ports. I was told that this can be buffer issue.
Just want to check with the community if they have seen the same issue with their Aruba Switches.

    Thanks for your input.

TX drops in general are caused by insufficient capacity on the interface where traffic needs to be sent. If you have more than 1 Gbps of traffic, and a 1 Gbps port, then traffic needs to be dropped when buffers fill up. One thing that may cause this is excessive broadcast or loops in your network.

This is not an Aruba switch problem, but a switching capacity design in general. Would be good to get your Aruba partner involved to review your design, first review the links and link capacity.

    Thanks Herman.

We have quite simple network with HP 5700 FlexFabric in core layer and Aruba 29xx and 25cc in distribution layer. The Aruba switches are connected via Link Aggregation to HP switches so I dont think there is loop issue. We do have a flat network with /22 network. Is there any way to check further from my end?

    Thanks

There is a lot to check, but depending on what you see you would need to check different further things. There are multiple full week training sessions to understand and troubleshoot designs and switch implementations. Would be best to get your partner or Aruba TAC involved if you can't find it yourself.

Can the firmware plays any part in this?
I can see that we are still running quite old firmware.
