  • 1.  Point-to-Point Deployment with AOS 8 and 577 outdoor AP's

    Posted Nov 20, 2023 06:42 PM

    Hello,

I'm searching for a deployment guide on a PTP setup. I need to extend my network  using a PTP bridge (i think). I found some old info for AOS6, but nothing new for AOS8.

Any info is appreciated. Below is the old documentation.

This information has been very helpful, thank you. But I think i'm stuck here. I can get the AP's to mesh, and in the controller I see both AP's online. The far ap (.91) is seen as up on my controller. But, when I try to configure and ping the managment interface on my far switch 68.3, i'm unable to ping the interface. I think my config on the Wired AP Profile is incorrect. Please advise.

    VLAN 68 is switch Management

    VLAN496 is AP VLAN

    Switch port interface config:

Interface where AP's .90 and .91 are connected

    Mobile1 switch 10.0.68.2

    interface 8
       name "10.110.96.90"
       power-over-ethernet critical
       poe-allocate-by class
       tagged vlan 68,496
       device-type network-device

    Mobile 2 switch 10.0.68.3

    interface 8
       name "AP 10.110.96.91"
       power-over-ethernet critical
       poe-allocate-by class
       tagged vlan 68,496
       device-type network-device

I think you need to change the forward mode on your wired AP profile to tunneled to cross the mesh.
