RAP + IAPs + PPoE, bad combo?

    Hi Everyone,

We are looking to setup PPPoE on a RAP and use the RAP as an IAP in addition to a few other IAPs. The plan is to set it up with both a guest ssid (via captive portal) and WPA2 enterprise for the employees. Logically, I was thinking of configuring the IAP and PPPoE settings on the RAP and in the process of implementing this, I was checking the user guide and came across this:

You can use PPPoE for your uplink connectivity in both IAP and IAP-VPN deployments. PPPoE is supported only in a single AP deployment.

When PPPoE is used, do not configure Dynamic RADIUS Proxy and IP address of the Virtual Controller. An SSID
created with default VLAN is not supported with PPPoE uplink.

Can anyone confirm the above statements? Does this mean that the way I want to deploy this is not possible or they are referring to actual APs and not IAPs? When they refer to Dynamic RADIUS Proxy and IP address of the VC, they essentailly mean that we cannot use WPA2 for authentication for corporate employees?

If this is the case, does anyone have any suggests on workarounds around this?

    Thanks,

    LC

"PPPoE is supported only in a single AP deployment. "

"When PPPoE is used, do not configure Dynamic RADIUS Proxy and IP address of the Virtual Controller."

Those statements are true because I have tested that before. And I don't know how to resolve your problem.
