RAP using FQDN to reach controller

    Hi,

In order to make changing the controller's IP easier in the future, I'm trying to get our RAPs to connect to it using the the FQDN instead of its IP.

I've set the servername and domainname environnement variables but the RAP picks up the DHCP's domainname and uses that instead.

Is there a way to get the RAP to ignore the domainname the DHCP server provides ?

    Regards,

    John

Thanks but that isn't much help here :-/

We use RAPs to extend the company's wifi network at sites we don't control.

I need the RAPs to ignore the DNS suffix provided by a DHCP server.

    Regards,

    John

Try with a console cable to configure the domain name on the AP's

    setenv domainname <domain>

saveenv // to save the config

boot // to reboot the AP

I already tried that but the domain name provided via dhcp seems to override that setting :-/
