Redirect DNS function on controller

    Hi, see the redirect DNS function on aruba controller today and curious how does this thing works. As my understanding if i set the domain xyz.com to 192.168.1.1, every dns request made to *.xyz.com will be translate by 192.168.1.1. 
    Is this correct or it function as something else ?

    Hi, the redirect DNS in controllers works with the captive portal certificate uploaded to the controller, if it is by default the redirect works for securelgin.arubanetworks.com, but if you upload a certificate it works for this domain, i.e xyz.acme.com. if you upload a wildcard cert (i.e *.acme.com) redirect will be placed for captiveportal-login.acme.com

    No IP FQDN relation is necesary, redirect works for any wireless traffic looking for those domain. You use that for captive portal, may be for redirect to an internal captive portal in the controller, or in order to get credentials from an external captive portal an and send them back to the external radius auth server.
