    i have one Aruba airwave VM, seems like no one has the appadmin password or the default account password.
    How do we do a password reset or password recovery ?

    We can login to the web GUI using the admin account but not at the OS level. 
    our version is CentOS Linux7.

    You haven't posted your version of AirWave, so I'll take a guess...

    Also know that the accountname will be ampadmin, not appadmin. If you tried with appadmin as username, try again the possible passwords with ampadmin.

    Hello there , 

    You can try with  the amprecovery account. It has default pass "amprecovery"(if not changed during installation) at least on 8.2.14 version.
    You need to either have physical access to the server or a remote console on VMs

    Than you will see 3 options:

    1) generate new pw [result is a pw hash key],
    2) scp the new pw hash so that you can send to support,
    3) activate the new pw [with pw translation from support]

     

    The 2nd username prompt is the username for the AMPCLI admin, default is ampadmin.  This user has no default password - so password is what you set during installation.
