I cannot find the serial port pinout for the RJ45 serial console on the procurve 2810 series switches.
If anyone has this information please share it!

If HP is reading this please publish this info!

    Thanks in advance

Using a continuity tester I have derived the pinout of the supplied console cable: (partno: 5188-3836)

    RJ45 - DB9(F) - PC serial signal
    1 - 8 - CTS
    2 - 6 - DSR
    3 - 2 - RXD
    4 - 1 - CD
    5 - 5 - GND
    6 - 3 - TXD
    7 - 4 - DTR
    8 - 7 - RTS
    N/C - 9 - RI

It appears that this HP wiring is compatible with the system used by both cicso and sun for serial over RJ45. (Which is good!)

Shame this is not documented by HP (at least not anywhere I looked!).

Just to confirm that I built a cable using this pinout (but because I'm lazy and the cable is short just used TXD RXD and GND) and works perfectly.

    Tested on a Procurve 2810-24G

    (Edit: typo)
