    Hi ,

I am not sure if this is possible but what we want to test is to use an smtp to sms gateway to send the users self-registration credentials sms.

So basically the self-registration portal will require the users Name, Surname, Company and mobile number and then send the self-registration receipt to an email address that is formulated from the mobile number field and a predetermined email domain i.e 0776612341234@email.com

Can any one advise if it is possible and if so how?

    Many thanks

    Andy

This is all built in to ClearPass Guest. Take a look at page 348 in the CPG 6.3 User Manual.

First enable the mobile carriers you want to list under:

Guest | Administration » SMS Services » Mobile Carriers

In your guest registration form, enable (or add) the "visitor_carrier" field and make sure it is visible.

Then enable (or add) the "auto_send_sms" field and make the sure the initial value is set to 1.

Under configuration » SMS Receipt, match the fields:

         Phone Number Field: visitor_phone

         Auto-Send Field: auto_send_sms

If you want to customize the SMS receipt text, modify the "SMS Receipt" template under Configuration » Print Templates.

    Another question,

I assume the text "NUMBER" in the email address get replaced by the text in the visitor_phone field in the SMS template and send via the mail server in the messaging setup on the plocy manager.

It works and I am so happy now as hopefully the customer will finally throw his "ICE" server in the trash
