My experience in and around block structures is 2.4 GHz offers far better penetration through brick and steel.

Kevin,
In general, 5 GHz will offer better performance (and even coverage area) than 2.4 GHz when deployed and configured correctly and has a lot more available channels that can be reused more effectively and even bonded for greater channel bandwidth (there is no opportunity to bond channels in 2.4 GHz).
2.4 GHz is often congested with high utilization (duty cycle) in most environments resulting in a lot of upfront contention in order to Tx. 2.4 GHz has fewer channels (3 or 4 depending on regulatory and how you prefer to slice it, most stick to 3) compared to 5 GHz for effective reuse. 2.4 GHz should be considered a best-effort band for most use cases. If 2.4 GHz was more than adequate, Aruba would not offer multi-band APs with 5 GHz and 6 GHz radios.

It is preferable in most cases to use a single SSID. "Performance" is subjective, as 2.4 GHz provides more than adequate speed and has much greater range. A single SSID permits clients and the AP to use the best band.

In general if you deploy a dual band ESSID on 2.4 + 5 GHz, modern clients will prefer connectivity to 5 GHz. To force connectivity to 5 GHz on the infrastructure side, only allow 5 GHz on the SSID. Performance will likely be better on 5 GHz and may be able to use 40 MHz wide channels in 5 GHz, but of course depending on what else is using the local RF environment.

Hi Community
Kindly advise me to create TWO separate SSIDs for 2.4 GHz & 5.0 GHz bands or a single SSID for both bands. Whose performance will be better?. I have two Cluster One is based on IAP 515 consisting of 50 APs. The second cluster is based on IAP 207 consisting of 26 APs.. Both clusters are separate and in different Hostel buildings.
