    Is there any command that allows me to shut down a port or a lag on both members of a VSX cluster?

    Hi Ricardo,

    AFAIK there is no such command simply because VSX is not a stacking and while both VSX members sync a lot of control plane data between themselves, management planes of both switches remain separated.

    I understand that.
    But sometimes it would be useful to be able to issue commands on both VSX switches at the same time, or from the primary to the secondary.
    Say something like "shutdown both" or "shutdown vsx-peer".

    Hi Robert,

    That is quite close to what I want, and you got my vote.
    I would still enhance it to support most of the commands that are not vsx-synced as more commands could benefit from the "include-peer" flag.
    So whenever there is an include-peer it would issue the same command on the same context on the peer switch.

    hi,

    I know this is quite a late response, but why not use some kind of management system to shutdown the port on both VSX peers at the same time? 

    NetEdit or Central should the job quite easily? Or do I miss something important here?
