System running with low disk space

    CPPM 6.11.5

     4 node cluster,

    two nodes are generatibng evenet messages saying System is running loq on disk space. Agressive cleanup of /var/log$ will be initiated when the available disk space falls below 20% Current available disk space 25%

    These cluster nodes happen to host my primary and secondary insight  databases.

    System monitor shows 61/820 GB used , no swap space used

    Had an issue with these boxes before wher they ran out of /var/log space and needed a reboot to get them  working again. Problem is that 1 of them is the master publisher

    Is this a 6.11 thing?

    This is a well known bug on 6.11.0 , we solved this with upgrade to 6.11.5 after support recommendation.

    Did you manage to solve this issue? We are facing the same since the upgrade to ClearPass  6.11.8.

    We had an physical C3010 server with an issue with the iLO card generating a lot of log that wasn't removed during normal clean up nor aggresive clean up jobs. In that case we got the motherboard of the server replaced as the iLO interface was in a stuck state and we could not log in to it.

    But I have also run into disk issues on various versions of ClearPass 6.11.x.

    As of ClearPass 6.11 the logs are stored on a separate partition and the free space calculation is done based on that partition size, not the entirety of the disk available to the system.  This was done to prevent the logs from impacting the overall system from operating.

    If you are worried about the message, then open a case with TAC so that a determination can be made as to what is causing the potential excessive logging to happen.
