You would normally want to stack 6300 switches with 50Gb DACs or optics. 50Gb because that is the fastest available.
The new 6300 S0E91A has 100Gb ports, so the fastest available stacking speed is 100Gb.
10-Unit VSF Stacking with flexibility to mix modular 6300M and fixed 6300F models in a single stack using QSFP28-SFP56 DAC cable
You will need the special QSFP28-SFP56 DAC cable if the stack includes both 100Gb and regular 6300 models - and the stack speed will be 50Gb (all stack connections have to be the same speed).
These are the 2 x 100-50Gb DAC options:
- S1J07A HPE Aruba Networking 50G QSFP56 to SFP56 0.65m DAC Cable
- S1J08A HPE Aruba Networking 50G QSFP56 to SFP56 3m DAC Cable
And some of the 100-100Gb DAC/AOC options:
- JL307A HPE Aruba Networking 100G QSFP28 to QSFP28 3m Direct Attach Copper Cable
- R0Z25A HPE Aruba Networking 100G QSFP28 to QSFP28 1m Direct Attach Copper Cable
- R0Z27A HPE Aruba Networking 100G QSFP28 to QSFP28 7m Active Optical Cable
- R0Z29A HPE Aruba Networking 100G QSFP28 to QSFP28 30m Active Optical Cable
Why 25Gb for stacking 6300 other than cost? You cannot use a DAC in a QSA, only an optic.
Connectivity Notes for the 100Gb model S0E91A:
- The four ports support all of the 40Gb and 100Gb products (including DACs and AOCs)
- QSFP28 to SFP28 Adapter (QSA) is supported for single 10 or 25Gb optics/AOCs
- Other than the QSA, split ports are not supported (and will not be – this is a hardware restriction)
- The "special" DAC does the conversion from 100Gb NRZ to 50b PAM4
- It is possible to stack just the new models with 100Gb (or 40Gb) DACs, AOCs or optics

Subject: Understanding stacking on the new S0E91A CX 6300M 48p SR10 PTP/AVB Class8 PoE 4p 100G MACsec Switch
I am confused on how stacking works on this model of switch, which DACs work? which don't? when do I need the adapter, etc.
I have gone through transceiver guide here.
I have gone through the datasheet here.
Iris does not help me.
I understand depending on the port profiles we choose, we have different options.
According to the transceiver guide, if I want to stack these switches with 25G SFP28, I need the QSA28 adapter (845970-B21) QSFP28 to SFP28. Right?
Then I can use a 25G DAC? or not? Seems not. Page 84. transceiver guide says 25G DACs not supported. So I must choose an SFP28?
In the datasheet, it mentions this.

50G capability is for use with 50G DACs for both interconnect and VSF stacking. 50G transceivers and DACs are not supported on S0E91A and S0X44A switch models, which requires QSFP to SFP56 DAC cable for VSF stacking
with other CX 6300 switch models. VSF stacking not supported on 1G ports.
I am lost at this point.
I need help understanding this.
Use case. I want to be able to stack 3 x S0E91A. What is supported and what do I need?
Can anyone shed some light?
