We just did the upgrade from 6x to 8x.  In order to get and  stay under the 10,000 AP limit we had to leave 2000+ AP 105s on the the 6x system in the default group.

If I disable the ADP on the 6x, will the APs in the default group stay on the 6x if rebooted?

    #show adp config

    ADP Configuration
    -----------------
    key value
    --- -----
    discovery enable
    igmp-join enable
    igmp-vlan 0

Depends how the APs discover their master (static/DHCP/ADP/DNS) . The above configuration will disable broadcast/multicast responses from the Controller. For example, if the APs are using the same DNS record (aruba-master) and they all reboot then they will locate the controller IP specified in the aruba-master DNS record.
