    Hello Team,

Kindly let me know whether the APs  will  act as master-slave as in IAP cluster setup or they are independently act as master after integrating to aruba central.

    Regards,

Aruba Central supports both Instant APs (any AP running firmware 8.x) and AOS10 APs.

if the APs are running Instant firmware of 8.x then they work to form a cluster if they have L2 adjancencies) and the first one becomes the master/conductor.

if the APs are running firmware 10.x they they are independent and require Aruba Central.

    Architectural Overview ArubaOS 10

    Hello Ariyap,

    Thank you for your response.

    Please confirm the below

    Supported Deployment Modes
Aruba Instant APs can be deployed in the following modes in Aruba Central:
    1.Cluster mode-
    2. Standalone mode-

Please clarify me on the below queries.

Does standalone mode supported only in the  AOS 10.?

What happens if the APs lost connection to the Aruba Central in the standalone and cluster mode, can we access  to the APs GUI to check  any issues or logs or any config update.?

Also let me know will there be any specific license required for the 500 series APs to be onboard in AOS10 in central. As of now we have the foundation licenses. for the APS.?

    • when you have an Instant AP you can run it n standalone or cluster mode
    • yes you can access the WebUI of the instant Cluster or standalone AP with no dependency on availability of Central (this is unlike AOS10 AP)
    • no there is no additional subscription Central lic for you to operate an AOS10 AP in addition to AP Foundation subscription lic.

you might be able to use APIs but you can still configure SNMP on the APs/Switches/gateways
