After I had added a couple of new Vlans  to one of the SSID's on our Mobility Master, we lost wireless connectivity.

I added the Vlans via the GUI under Configuration/Interfaces/Vlans/ and selecting the SSID from the list (added Vlans in yellow)

When I removed the Vlans, wireless connectivity returned.

Does anyone know why this is causing the wireless to drop out? We need to add another 8 vlans to this SSID.

(I didn't change "Vlans allowed all", option)

    Many thanks for any advice

    Hi,

can you give more context please. Where did you add those VLANs?

Do you have a Mobility Conductor in place and a Controller Cluster or an Active - Passive Environment?

Do you know the construct of "Hierarchical configuration"?

Are those VLANs available on the Uplink of the Controllers?

    Hi,

thanks for getting back on this. We have a Conductor and a Controller set up and I added the extra vlans to the Conductor.

I added the vlan to the trunk on the switch side, and then created the vlans and added them to the trunk on the controller side within the Mobility Conductor GUI. These changes were pushed to the controllers without issue.

I then went to edit the named vlan which contains the existing numbered vlans used for clients on our primary SSID. I clicked the pencil icon in the top box and edited the vlan list with the 2 extra vlans. I then submitted and deployed these changes and it seemed to take out wireless connectivity for all clients on that SSID, as far as I can tell. My test laptop on wireless next to me immediately lost network access and refused to connect to the SSID.

After a few minutes I edited the named vlan list and removed the 2 I added, after pushing this change connectivity was restored. I would like to check what went wrong because we need to add about 8 further vlans and don't want to cause another outage.

    Many thanks

    Paul

Are you also able to provide the 'show audit-trail' output to determine how exactly the VLANs were also added. What does your uplink port configuration also look like as well?

    Hi Craig,

I'll get back to you about the Audit trail and uplink configs once I'm back in the office, because I still need to resolve this.

    Many thanks
