CPPM Server Suddenly Unresponsive


In some cases, we might come across that system may become unresponsive suddenly and the following message in seen in the CPPM logs:

When the System becomes sluggish, unresponsive or panics repeatedly and when above error messages are noticed in CPPM system logs(/var/log/messages), follow the below solution.


The above error message shows that there is a Bad page map issue for SNMPD. It could be with any other processes and mainly seen in a Virtual environment.

"swap_free: Unused swap offset entry"  message indicate that server warns itself about that it has hardware problems. It is most likely to be caused by a hardware errorRun memtest86, or other memory verification checks on the host.

1. /var/log/messages cannot be exported to an external Syslog server.

2. To collect the logs, please navigate to Administration --> Server Manager --> Select the server and click Collect logs. After collecting the logs, we should untar the file and navigate to the folder System logs --> var --> log --> messages text file to check the logs manually.
